Revolution Books and the BA Everywhere Committee announce a
Special showing of the film of a talk by Bob Avakian:
BA Speaks: Revolution - Nothing Less!
at Maysles Cinema in Harlem
[Part 1 was shown on September 29th]
Part 2 Sunday, October 6th, 2:00 - 6:00 PM
343 Malcolm X Blvd/Lenox Avenue
(between 127th and 128th)
"... a daring, substantive, scientific summoning to revolution. 6+ hours that can change how you see the world and what you do with the rest of your life." (from one of the filmmakers)
As Cornel West introduced Bob Avakian in his interview on Public Radio International:
“My dear brother Bob Avakian… is the Chairman of the Revolutionary Communist Party… He is one of the few coming out of the 60’s who never sold out, he never caved in, he never gave up, held on to his forging of a rigorous, scientific analysis of the objective realities that are driven by a revolutionary love–because he has such a deep love for poor people, oppressed people, all around the world. Whether you agree or disagree with our brother, one thing you cannot deny: that he is the real thing. No doubt about it.” (click here to listen to the whole interview)
Since its premiere in NYC, LA, Chicago and San Francisco Bay Area in March 2013 thousands have seen parts of BA Speaks: Revolution--Nothing Less! In Harlem alone, hundreds have seen parts of this extraordinary film on street corners, project courtyards and parks. This special showing at Maysles will be a rare opportunity for many different people from all walks of life to gather together to see the entirefilm on the big screen at Maysles Cinema.
Maysles, in central Harlem, is a cultural crossroads of many types of people, and is an internationally-known film center which is "dedicated to the exhibition and production of documentary films that inspire dialogue and action". It was the co-sponsor of the Harlem premiere of the Central Park Five and sponsor of numerous documentary films and film series on the Black Panthers, the Young Lords, and more.
If you have been outraged over the continuing vicious brutality of this system against Black people, as clearly was shown again by the trial and acquital of the killer of Trayvon Martin, then you need to see Revolution--Nothing Less!
If you have been angry or agonizing over the drum beats for yet another unjust war for empire in the Middle East, then you need to see this film.
If you see the continuing war on women, the massive spying, and all the other crimes this system is committing on different sections of people, and yet you wonder, is another world possible, can another way be forged? Then you need to see this entire film. You need to be at Maysles Cinema on Sept 29th and October 6th.
As Bob Avakian says in Revolution--Nothing Less!:
"Those this system has cast off, those it has treated as less than human, can be the backbone and driving force of a fight not only to end their own oppression, but to finally end all oppression and emancipate all of humanity."
